FNL Renewed
For TWO Seasons!

       Panthers touchdown

Clear eyes and full hearts prevailed today as NBC and DirecTV finally signed a deal that would bring our beloved Dillon Panthers back for not one, but -- wait for it -- TWO seasons of 13 episodes each!!! Cynthia Littleton of Variety's On the Air blog reported on March 29 that a decision would be made either way on Monday, March 30. Littleton later updated her article on Monday afternoon with the four words us Panthers and Pantherettes have been waiting to hear: It's official! Deal's done!

Two more seasons would bring the show up to a total of 76 episodes, making the magic 100 episode mark typically needed for syndication a lot more likely. (Although how syndication would work for two different entities who jointly own the rights to the show is anyone's guess.)

THANK YOU!

To:

  • * Everyone who donated to our earlier campaigns
  • * Everyone who watched the show on DirecTV then again on NBC
  • * Everyone who watched on Hulu.com
  • * Everyone who subscribed to DirecTV just to see this season first
  • * Everyone who joined our Facebook group
  • * All the media bloggers, critics, and other journalists who championed the show, our campaign, and got the word out there
  • * Everyone who checked out the DVDs from the libraries where we donated DVDs
  • * All the librarians who took part in our DVD campaign and our more recent letter-writing campaign

To all of you, from all of us at SaveFNL.com, we want to extend a great big

THANK YOU!!!

to each every single one of you. We truly could not have done it without you!

Going forward, the best way to keep the show on the air is to subscribe to DirecTV and then rewatch the shows on NBC. Also, don't forget to buy the third season when it comes out on DVD.

SAVE FNL CAMPAIGN SCOREBOARD:
GOAL # 11: REACHED! (214 DVD sets donated)
GOAL # 12: REACHED! (Show renewed for 2 seasons!!)

It took $15840 to buy 13750 footballs, and $3644.30 in charitable contributions donated in the show's name, for NBC to hear us loud and clear! And we didn't stop there.

Over the summer, we donated 107 copies of Season 1 DVDs AND 107 copies of Season 2 DVDs to 107 public libraries in the Top 100 TV Markets all across the U.S.A. The response to these DVDs has been phenomenal.

Here is what one librarian told us:
